Should have won a Grammy

Imagine my shock when I was told by a friend that the King Tut exhibit
didn't have the king in it. He's on the poster and EVERYTHING!
A friend, her 18 year old daughter and I went to the Dallas Museum of Art to see for ourselves.

The daughter was unimpressed. She thought it was stupid that someone had drilled holes in almost every piece in the exhibit.

Hmm... maybe the holes are a little older than you think they are?
It's a cosmic irony that, at 18, young adults know more than everyone who isn't in their peer group. I'm sure she knows more about web-page design than I'll ever know, but on some other things, not so much.

I would have bought one of the books they had, but the dinkiest of them was $20, and that one was very dinky, make no mistake, "I'll just take this free brouchure and blow it up on the color copier at Kinko's, thanks".

Hey, wait a minute, there's lots of free pictures on the internet, see?

Anyways, the gold Tut on the poster is in the show. it's just not as big as you expected. Turns out it's the coffin of King Tut's liver and stands about 18 inches tall. Tut's liver got it's own coffin, but the brains were pulled out with a hook and thrown out as part of the procedure(sure I could have made that up, but I didn't). I'd have thought that at some point someone would have taken a mean shot to the head and been affected enough to make the Egyptians realize the importance of that part of the patient.

It was a good show and I may even see it again before it closes in June.
